Public and economic acceptance is a key success factor for the new government e-ID. At today's annual participation meeting, digitalswitzerland was awarded the "swiyu Ambassador" label by the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) as the first organisation in Switzerland. "swiyu" is the official brand name of the future government e-ID. At the same time, digitalswitzerland and DIDAS are signing a new cooperation agreement and joining forces to promote the ecosystem via a launchpad.
By awarding the "swiyu Ambassador" label, the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) recognises digitalswitzerland's ongoing exchange and commitment to establishing a powerful e-ID ecosystem and the associated digital wallet "swiyu".

The label can be awarded by the federal government to non-profit organisations that are particularly committed to establishing e-ID and related applications. As the first holder of this label, digitalswitzerland is underlining its pioneering role in this field.
"This label is both confirmation and motivation for us. We hope that many more organisations will follow suit so that we can work together to make e-ID a success," says Franziska Barmettler, CEO of digitalswitzerland.
While digitalswitzerland acts as a "swiyu ambassador", DIDAS and Digital Administration Switzerland (DVS) will take on the role of "swiyu orchestrator" in future. This function is reserved for organisations that specifically provide resources for the coordination and development of important competence structures in the e-ID ecosystem.
In order to rapidly advance initiatives relating to digital identities and credentials and the associated ecosystem, digitalswitzerland and DIDAS have entered into a new cooperation agreement. The two partners complement each other with their respective expertise, networks and event formats. While digitalswitzerland will increasingly rely on DIDAS' expertise for technical matters in future, DIDAS will in turn be able to use digitalswitzerland's established platforms and access. This will enable information campaigns to be scaled in a targeted manner and promote important industry dialogue.
A new "swiyu launchpad" will serve as a central lever for establishing and scaling e-ID-based use cases. It brings together players from the public and private sectors to develop interoperable and value-adding solutions. Another goal of the launchpad is to prevent isolated silo solutions and achieve economic network effects through common standards. The coordinated approach is intended to exploit the full potential of digital trust mechanisms and avoid stagnant technology adoption in Switzerland.
The launchpad also marks the first concrete element of the new cooperation between digitalswitzerland and DIDAS. It is currently under construction, and additional supporting organisations for the project are currently being sought.
